We’ve been focusing intensely on my back strength, as I described in my last post. The muscle tone you can see from my mid-back on down is fairly new…it’s really connected, and now I have to strengthen it a lot.
The best part, though, is that my hips are unsupported while kneeling – my gluteal muscles are holding them properly in place. In that position, I must have control from my pelvis that extends up and down, so it is significantly more difficult than doing any exercise seated.
This progress is HUGE, as it is a position and exercise I’ve been working on for a while, and I have not previously been able to hold a stable contraction. I believe I’ve just turned a corner…SO EXCITED.
I have quite a bit more work ahead of me to strengthen these connections, and then to establish new ones (as I have been, using my connective tissue), but those gains are on the way and this breakthrough is an indicator that there’s much more coming. I just never know when...
