You can see that Ray is helping to lock-out my knees with his own (my quadricep strength is growing), to keep my hips forward (my gluteal strength is improving), and to serve as my upper-body support (my core is on its way as well.) My lower back is rounded because my abdominals are not yet strong enough to tilt my pelvis back upright so that every part of me is stacked. All of those skills, however, are coming into play now more than ever, as you will see in the next post. Exciting times! –T
We appreciate all of you who have reached out with words of encouragement or assisted in making each phase of recovery possible. It is Theo’s pursuit of independence from the wheelchair that fuels his persistence and focus––and we are all excited about what his next year of therapy will bring. –S
Happy 4th of July to all!
